Anthony Hegarty, MSc

Director

Anthony holds an MSc in Criminal Psychology & Criminology, a BSc in Security & Risk Management, and two Diplomas in Forensic Science.

Anthony began his law enforcement career at New Scotland Yard, dedicating ten years to public service before transitioning to the private sector. In this capacity, Anthony has primarily operated in the Far East, including extended periods in Indonesia, Japan, and South Korea.

During his tenure in Southeast Asia, Anthony led covert intelligence operations targeting human trafficking gangs, particularly those involved in the sex tourism industry. These operations included surveillance, infiltration, and directing disruption efforts aimed at rescuing and protecting children trafficked into the sex tourism industry.

Anthony spent three years training the Japanese Police and has provided support to the Korean Police and Supreme Prosecutors’ Office. His expertise in crisis management includes preparing country evacuation plans and ensuring safe housing for international clients at events such as the PyeongChang Winter Olympics and the G20 Summit.

Anthony has written extensively for international newspapers on topics related to social change, crime, and the protection of vulnerable populations, especially women and children. In addition to consulting with corporations on employee safety, Anthony has lectured at multiple universities on subjects including drugs and sexual violence. He has published a book on the dangers of drugs, available in both English and Korean, and currently offers the only online course focused on educating young people about the dangers of narcotics.

In response to identifying a pattern of sex offenders entering South Korea to work as English teachers, Anthony established Korea’s first background screening service for the education sector, conducting deep searches into the backgrounds of job applicants from seven countries. This initiative led to collaboration with members of the Korean congress to amend visa application procedures, thereby enhancing the protection of children and vulnerable adults. Subsequently, Anthony has been instrumental in advising educational institutions on safeguarding their brands against both genuine and malicious allegations through comprehensive school employee training projects

Anthony is deeply passionate about combating sexual violence and drug abuse, and championing child protection.
